MC Angel is a rapper, poetess and trained actress. Her piercing lyrical skill and conscious rhymes have left a permanent stamp in London’s thriving music scene. MC Angel has won the UK’s first all female hip-hop mc battle, she has won the international woman’s day poetry slam and the Shoredith Festival Poetry Slam.
MC angel started running drama projects in a hall on her local estate with no funding and off her own back because she wanted to make a difference in her community. she was the awarded £5000 from the princes trust to run a summer drama project then was awarded a community champions award from the home office and another £2000 from the Scarmans Trust for another summer drama project.
MC angel was a team leader for a youth project in Camden for two years, she has run projects in a wood green P.R.U and an essex P.R.U working towards a performance that was performed at the roundhouse with Davis Harewood.
Mc angel is passionate about making a change on the epidemic of violent crime raveging our streets. ‘we can work together to help our young people gain self esteem through arts, help them to realise they don’t need a weapon for protection’.
